    Rear Plow

What is involved in getting the rear plow installed?

Also, how well do they work?

Daner, I'm still thinking about getting that V. If I were to get a dodge (thinking of a 01 dually CTD), would it be a straight bolt-on?

The rear plow needs 2 ears welded on the rear frame of your truck...and the wire harness hooked to your battery, Slide it In your trailer hitch receiver... and your set to go

sorry It took so long to get back...I was away for a bit

The 01 Dodge I think should be the same as the 02...they call them the 2nd generation frames...should fit but i would check It out on the Dodge site to be sure... Or the Western Site, to my knowlage in 2003 dodge changed to the thrid generation

    Thanks Daner.

As you can probably tell, I am fairly new to this plowing gig.

I see now that your new on here...But welcome aboard

I see that you asked how well do they work...Imo They work real fine...On circle drive ways...there's all ways a area that gets missed with the front plow...But If you have a rear plow ...you drop front and the rear blades as you go around the circle.

Plus back draging with a reg plow will not clean as well...for 1 the attack angle will be going the opposite direction and ends up pasting the snow...With the rear plow the cutting edge Is going the right direction...and with the added down pressure It scrapes Its right down to the pavement. Its very easy to use...just up and down controls...no angling.

Just back up to the building ...Drop the rear blade...and pull the snow out from the building.

a lot of times Its saves the truck...because your not turning around all the time.

Anyway Best of luck with your new season If this Is your first.

Its Not too Heavy...but the pump and hydraulic cylinder are all attached to the plow...I would guess at 300 lbs
