Hi guys, I'm new to this forum and the plowing business. I just bought a Western 8' pro, unimount I thintk. The only problem from what I have been reading is this plow will be too much for my truck (2005 gmc 1500 sierra), what do you think? I really don't need an 8' blade but I couldn't pass up the deal I got. From what I understand is this plow setup is only 3 or 4 years old, is there any way to tell what year it is? I only plan on doing a few drives for now so I don't really need such a heavy duty plow. I might try to sell this plow and buy a lighter duty plow that will work better for me and my truck. Thanks:drinkup:

You may be talking about the Ultramount. Those were a new series 3 or 4 years ago. They replaced the Unimount. If you have pics I'm sure someone on here could tell you for sure. I've seen 8 footers on 1/2 ton plow trucks on this sight before, but not too often. You'll probably have to do something with the front end suspension.
