They had a light duty (6 lug) 2500 and a
HD 8 lug with 800 higher GVW

I might be wrong but, I don't think they started putting the HD behind the 2500 on the 8 lug until like 2003..

They had HD on the badge in 2001 when they came out, that truck does have the light duty 1/2 looking grille and hood on it.... odd that would still be an 8 lug wheel but at a 8600 GVW rating

Hmm, something isn't right there. Not an HD truck if ya ask me. A friend has the same truck...2500 non-HD. Not sure about GVW on these trucks though.

    Whats the VIN?

*Sigh. I wish GM would have never started the whole "HD" thing.

Looks like a decent truck for $5200. Considering I got $3,200 for a 95 half ton with the same miles that was beat all to hell with a rusted up unimount, I'd say 2k more for this one is the better deal.

If he were closer I'd consider it, would make a great spare and would match my fleet perfect.

I agree! Everyone thinks their trucks are HD's. Also the OBS Fords...correct me if I am wrong but the only SuperDuty back then was the F-SuperDuty.

    I think you're right^^^

Ya my original point with the HD thing was that 2500HD's technically didn't start till 01. HD is a name, not a GVW. They make 1500HD's with 8 lug wheels too. Regardless, I'm sure it's a he!! of a truck, but it's not technically an HD. Same goes for Dodges. I see Dodge "2500HD's" on CL all the time LOL.

Not sure what all this HD nonsense is all about. But when I buy parts there is a 2500 and a 2500HD listed. It is in fact considered a HD
