How about gallons per hour for plowing?

I can tell you that over many years a 5.2L Gas (318) will burn 2.1 gallons per hour.
A 2001 5.9L Cummins will burn 1.2 gallons per hour.
This is for residential driveways mostly.

I would drive one! They are noisy just like a 24 valve, not as much power but way more than you need to plow. I have been thinking about making a Reg Cab short box 3/4 ton with a non-intercooled 12 valve.
I had a 1990 long box 12 valve - best MPG I ever had in a truck 21-26 all day long.

This is MPG for a 1996 1500 Dodge with a 5.2 and 9'4" BOSS V (7'6" with wings) plow on it. This is every fill up this winter. So your V10 in not that bad.
