I bought a 1000 AMP yellow top battery to suppliment the extra lites & plow stuff on my Jeep. Do I need to run 2 batteries now ( & 1 alternator?) or just replace the 600 AMP battery with the new one? Thanks.

i think that changing the battery will help but what is the output on the alternator? aslong as it can charge the battery as fast as you are using it..

i have got dual optima setup now... both batteries are 750 cca, i've noticed a huge difference just in starting the truck.(haven't plowed with it)

Use the search function on the top gray line above. Search "Charging" etc. It's an issue beat to death every year. You should find a few hours of reading on the subject.
The Optima batteries are discussed too.
