Hey people , perhaps somebody can shed some light on this subject! My rearend went out on my 76 ( heavy 1/2 - 2wd ) and after pulling off the dif cover and checking the gearing, I counted 21 teeth on the pinion and 43 on the ring . thats a 2.04 ???? Can that be ? the lowest I have heard of for this year truck was a 2.56. no wonder i could get my truck up to 104mph. ( Im not making that up either...GPS dont lie) Thats with a Auto 3 speed too.
The real question I have is was that offered at one point as a special option from Chevy or do you think that was a aftermarket thing??

    Thanks guys ... JP
