Was looking into buying a new plow truck to replace my older one for my 700' lane this year.

Was reading about transfer troubles with the 1999 2500 etc. Seems to be a recurring problem.

(71,000 miles the transfer case (NVG246) electronic shifting developed 3 holes. Cost to repair $1400. Truck is highway driven only, no off road, or heavy towing. Transfer case is poorly designed and built to fail. Internal oil pump wiggles and wears holes in the case. Repair shop said they see A LOT of this. Replacement parts are the same as the old ones GM response, “out of warranty YOUR problem”! )

Has this problem been addressed yet in newer trucks and if it has starting with what year trucks?

Google GM pump rub if you want a fix for it.

I just want to know what year did they fix this on the newer trucks, so I can bypass buying a POS from the get go.

Found more info in search. NV261 cases are prior to 2007 half. They changed to a different T case after then.

Pretty much all GM transfer cases had this problem, just some more than others.
