A buddy picked up a 1996 2500 4x4 in nice shape. he wants to put a plow on it. He is looking for something used, and is leaning toward a western unimount straight blade.

The question is: what year and model range chevy's would share the same truck side mount as his 1996 2500?

He's come across a couple used unimounts off chevy trucks, but without an answer to the above question, he doesn't know if any of them will fit his specific truck. he's looking for a direct bolt on - not something that needs modification. thanks.

there seems to be a few different answers.

'88-'00 3/4 and 1 ton is what we should be looking for?

or is it mid '90s to '01?

    does anyonme know for sure?

    Thats a good point. I was assuming 8 lug. If its a 6 lug, you need a 88-00 1500 plate I believe.

yeah, i'm not a chevy guy. i didnt know there was a 6 lug 3/4 ton - but i'm guessing the 6 and 8 lug trucks have different frame? i'll try to find out if my buddy has 6 or 8 lugs and report back. thanks.

Not a lot of 6 lug 2500s were made but they are out there. They take the same mount as a half ton, the 8 lug take the same as the 3500. Mounts fit 88 to 00 on 99 and 00 they need to be old body style as you could have either new or old body style in those years.
