Just purchased truck. Tried to set the cruise. Would not work. Tried to set heater to blow hot and it would only blow cold air no matter where i set the adjustment knob right or left. Can anybody tell me what the problem may be ? thank you richard

Make sure all the vacuum lines are connected and none are leaking or loose.
If it's a diesel, it has a vacuum pump to run all that stuff plus the brake booster if it's hydraulic brakes.

The first thing to check is the coolant! If the level is low, none gets pumped through the heater core.
