1989 f 350 axle seal replacment

    Hey guys I have 89 f350 with locking hubs. the the truck is leaking gear oil and have to replace the axle seal. Any tips to a smooth removal considering the truck is a bit rusty. Any input would be great.

    Plan on replacing ball joints and u-joints in conjunction with the axle seals while you have it torn down. IIRC, you need to pull both axle shafts and pop out the differential to replace the seals, it can be a PIA to remove. Think you need a special tool to seat the seals also. Be careful when re-inserting the axle shafts which is when the seals get torn; grease the end splines before replacing. Lets see some pics. Good Luck:drinkup:
