1988 chev truck 4x4 reg cab long box

    hello i just replaced my fuel pump and sending unit and everything runs fine except my fuel gage reads full tank all the time do any body know the answer thanks

    Couple things could cause this..

    1) Bad sender assembly (new in box doesn't always mean "good")
    2) The sender isn't getting a good ground. There is a black ground wire in the weather pack plug at the sender.The wire could be corroded or broken. This wire is grounded to the top of the frame near the tank.
    3) The sender wire at the sender assembly/plug is disconnected or broken.

    Start with rechecking your wiring/connection at the sender. Sometimes the weather pack style connectors like to push the pins out of the plastic body when you push them together..and will cause a condition such as this.
