I am thinking about 31/10.5/15 b/f all terrains or yokohama geolander a/t+II for the elcamino project. People have told me that 16" rims would be better, because they would make the tire more stable on he road. Is there any truth to this?

Perhaps, but if you do any serious wheeling with it, you will find that with the new bfg's rimguard, and smaller rims, you will have less chance of damaging your rims

My personal preference is 15" rims, tires are cheap and they still clear everything without looking too huge. I hate those big 'DUBZ' rims that people are putting on their trucks these days.
