Just bought one for my international I don't understand why on the cutting edge there are two smaller one with a 1" gap between them instead of one solid cutting edge
Can I just weld a pice of metal between both of the edges

I welded small piece of flat stock on mine,it broke off.I can't figure out why the edges aren't a little longer? I think they're 2 piece because of the weight. I've learned to live with the little spittle that comes through. I might try some caulk,my space isn't an inch though. When I flipped the edges over I tightened the bolts snug and hit ends with a sledge hammer and kept hitting and tightening.

I was told they are two because of shipping and storage.
