Nice plow and truck. How does that 1/2 ton handle the 8'2" V?

i like your style!! im not a dodge guy but go big or go home. you drive that thing properly and you will be fine. if you put a rear plow on there you would have a serious driveway truck

Go big or go home is correct!

Not worried about the suspension - I replaced both the wheel bearings and U joints last summer both all with a lifetime warranty. Sure something may fail but I will just replace it! (

Drivers side upper and lower ball joints have been replaced - Still need to do the passenger side.

Remember what Red Green says..."If the women don't find you handsome they should at least find you handy!"

Transmission will not be an issue - Plowing should not be done in overdrive.....:)

Way too much plow for that truck.

I'm with GoldPro. You may eat your words, unless that slush box has been rebuilt correctly and a massive cooler added, it's toast as well as your suspension parts and possibly the frame when you hit a large enough bump with the plow up.

The fella that sells Boss plows here has been running a 8'2 V on his half ton (Dodge) for a few years just doing resi's with no serious problems. Truck seems to handle the plow fine.

in my auto shop at school we just had an 08 dodge half ton come in needing everything in the suspension redone because their plow was to big

The only thing I'd be worried about is the tranny. The suspension and frame will handle that truck fine. That style Dodge was the last of the 1500's with a solid front axle that shared almost every piece with the 2500/3500 (excluding axle/components). The 46RE tranny is the weak link that let's go just in normal driving- Keep it cool, keep it maintained, and keep the bands adjusted every oil change. That's an awesome rig!
