i have a hiniker 700 series poly plow on my 05 silverado z71 crew cab and it weighs about 450lbs which is considerably light compared to other plows. it squats the front end alot (installed 3 inch leveling kit) i would not recommend it with our trucks, we chose the wrong year and model to plow with 1500's.

have an 06 K1500 short box with Boss 7/6 V blade. Timbrins a plus up front
Great for small areas, Definitely needs ballast. New BFG All Terrain T/A's going on in a few days

1500 will work just fine with a 7.5' Boss. You should get a Boss with a trip edge.

I would get a trans temp gauge, timbrens are a must, and ballast.
