How to clean stuck plow control valves?

Have a Western Pro Plow, won't turn or raise. Pulled and cleaned the pump filter and and new fluid. I found both the 3 way and 4 way valves were stuck, so replaced them.

My question is can I clean the old valves... what is best way? Does soaking them in some fluid help to unstick them... and if so, what have you successfully used?

If you have a 3 way valve with the end protruding out just push hard against a flat clean surface.
Once it pushes in,spray with brake clean or carb cleaner, work the valve back and fourth a few times
and re-clean.

On the other style for 3 and 4 way, find something to push against the inner spool valve, like a small screwdriver, and pushe in really hard, once it move do the same as above and save alot of cash.

Bent or swollen stem, your SOL, replace valve.
Good luck SPW

You can clean them and play with them all you want but do you want to risk putting a historically bad valve in a working plow? Throw the darn thing away ! For what they cost do you think you want to be on the side of the road at - 30 degrees wondering if that valve stuck again? I plow and do repairs on plows, the last thing I want to do is to be fixing my plow at 02:00 in the morning when I have a $1000 contracts to fulfill the same night.
