Buyers Spreader with Fisher Control Box

Will it work??

I picked up a small Buyers tailgate spreader from a guy tonight and he also gave me an older style variable speed Fisher Control box and said it will all work together.

Should I wire it all up and make it work or just get the cheaper on/off switch wiring harness and go with that?

What other harness would I get or make?

The variable speed controller would be worth the time and effort to wire up. You can adjust the width of throw and it will save material. What type of wiring harness do you have at this time?

It's just the small Buyers Spreader. I have NO harness at this time, but need to make one up or get one ordered ASAP. Can I order the buyers harness on Ebay for $19.00 that has the on/off switch into the cigarette lighter and make it work or no?

I doubt that the buyers wiring harness will plug into the fisher controller. I would look at the fisher website to see how its wired. Then either build the part that takes power to the controller or purchase that part from fisher. Then you will need the harness that goes from the controller to the spreader. Looks like ebay has that for $66.

I have the Fisher 9027 control Box.

It has two sets of wires coming out the back.

One set is black and Yellow

Onse set is red and white, then has a red and black pigtail off of that.

I just need to know what they go to?

That is the model number that matches on fishers website. If it is not right, post a picture and I will try to help you out.

I have a feeling you have the Buyers SUV tailgate spreader. Its a simple on/off switch only without any spead control. Does the motor have 2 wires coming from it to a trailer style plug with 2 prongs?

That's it!!! Thanks

YES, I do have the Buyers SUVPRO. Can I make that controller work with the Spreader?? IS it worth it or just run the on/Off toggle?

That controller should work with the spreader. As I said before it would be worth it to me. If you just run with a toggle switch, the motor is running full speed and you are throwing a 30' path. If you hook up the fisher controller, you can control the speed of the motor therefor controlling the width of your spreading path. This will allow you to put your material where you need it with very little waste.
