Been a one man show there for past 3 years. Couple times a winter it doesn't get done til couple days after the storm but for what they pay they deal with it.
Most likely those lowballers you see are working for another snow company as a sub. When something goes wrong with the one truck or the guy with one truck does't show up the snow/ice company can bring in one of their own trucks.

Why would you want to work for an owner who would tolerate his lot turning to ice because it doesn't get done for a couple of days after the snow anyway.

No not subs. The lot is getting done fore 75% of what I got in 1996. That's why they tolerate it.

How can you compete?

Can't, there will allways be somebody thats more hungry than you, and you know they are not Insured.. Besides if you have been in the business for any length of time and are any good and reliable you should be OVERBOOKED. "Unless you are growing". Do NOT DROP YOUR PRICES!!!! Does anybody CUT you a break?? If you ask the gas station can you give me it for less what does he say??? It sucks to have to keep raising our prices but Grandview is rite.

you know you see a lot of crap on CL, I wouldn't modify my pricing structure because of it. Believe me, I have had enough "off shore oil rig workers" and "back country loggers" that have had access to email but not a bank trying to buy things off me with pay pal to know 90% of craigs list stuff is BS
