Meyers E58H wont lift or angle.

I bought this plow used. I just had it installed today professionally. I

I drove it home...it worked fine. I lowered it to the ground. I go out 3 hours later to drive the truck and the plow won't lift or angle.

It makes a little noise like it wants to angle.

Any ideas???

Did your "professional installers" clean/rebuild the pump?
If the motor runs and nothing at all happens, it may be a plugged inlet screen.

Did you try angling in both directions? If the blade is angled all the way to one side (most likely to the LEFT), it could be that the valves are stuck directing fluid in that specific direction. Check that you are getting power to your "B" solenoid when you are trying to lift the blade, and power to the "C" solenoid when you are trying to angle in one direction but not the other.

No valves energized + motor: angle left
B valve energized + motor: lift
C valve energized + motor: angle right
A valve energized: lower

There is NO time when the B and C valves are energized simultaneously, nor B and A valves.
Left and right could be reversed in some conditions.

A+C+motor can be powered simultaneously, also A+motor. This is for power angling while in float (lower).

Oh, also make sure that your fluid is full when the lift cylinder is in the DOWN position. If your installer didn't top up the fluid after bleeding the angle cylinders, you could simply be empty.

IS the pump getting enough 12 volt power?

Could the power plug have pull tight and lost full contact?

Did it work fine when you picked it up from the installer?

If so I would look for a simple issue before I started tearing the hydraulics apart.

Total system failure is normally frozen fluid, bad motor, failed pump, or electrical.

My e58h was not working, it sounded like it was trying and it eventually moved in all of the right directions, but it barely moved and sounded like it was going to die any second. I changed the fluid, including the rams, cleaned the filters, and it still groaned and barely moved. I brought it to the dealer and he took the top off the main tank/cylinder and found that the "strainer"at the bottom of the tank was clogged with five years worth of crud. Once that was cleared and it was filled with fresh fluid, it is good as new. Pretty poor design in that there is no way to clean the strainer without taking the whole top off, but it is what it is. You need three replacement "nylite" seals for the top cover and some fresh fluid, less than fifteen bucks total.

Meyer will tell you to throw that sump filter away. They say that is unnecessary and the two accessible filters will do the job.

The pump wasn't getting power. The issue appears to be in the Plow side harness.

Is that harness easily repairable or am I better off laying down the cash for a new one?

i would check what part of the harness is bad before paying a bunch for a new harness. it could be just a corroded connector from the solenoid to the pump or a bad ground or a bad solenoid.

Only listen to that advice if you don't mind ice, crud, and blobs of goo being sucked through your gear pump.
