I've got a quick medic question, when doing IO, would you do it in the femur or in the tibia?
Tibia. It's generally drilled into the Tibial tuberosity... the flat section just below the knee. A less common location is the shoulder. One of our cowboys does that frequently. We drill every code here. And actually, we used to do sternal way back in the early days. It didn't seem to work as well.

Can't resist yard medic. Remember someone taught you "2 fingers below the tibial tuberosity" that's because you AVOID it. It also is a device meant for inability to gain traditional peripheral venous access, so i suppose that infers an inability on the part of you and your peers, thanks for dabbling in yet another industry.

Ok, when you're right you're right. Bet your mom's really proud of how you handled this, too. Good job skippy

Apology to yard medic and all who viewed. Bad day and just walked away from stressful situation to decompress and look at some lighthearted plow site dialog while I cooled off. Shouldn't have let it spill over to here, not my style. Genuinely sorry
