2"X1/4" angle is going for $1.50-1.65 a foot around here depending on where you go.
They're bolting them together for a couple of reasons; less labor and easier/cheaper to ship.

The last snow we had I could have used the blower but had to settle on hand shoveling to get the jobs done because the bed doesn't have the room.
I guess I should have mentioned the spreader is on the back of the truck and can't be moved.

Great idea if the salt spreader wasn't back there.

By the time you get done screwing around with this gizmo I'd rather of had to hooked up and un-hooked a small trailer........... which I'm sure just about everyone has sitting around their place.
That would be a great idea if the spreader wasn't back there.

Yeah, I have a set too. They work great and I've driven the blower right up into the bed before. They would be a great idea too if the spreader wasn't back there.

That's why I'll take some measurements and go get a bunch of angle iron. Only I have a welder and will make one to custom fit the blower that isn't bolted together.

As for the blower getting covered in spray from other vehicles being on the front, don't follow so close. If that's too hard to do then cover it with a small tarp or something.

I think it would be more appealing to someone solo that has a lot of plowing and blowing to do in one place where it can be removed and sit at the area you'll be using it while plowing. I can't see it taking more then 1-2 minutes to take off and put on. I have it in my head to make one. I could benefit from it. All I have to do is find the time to make it.

I bet it comes disassembled, so it's $500 for R&D but not for bolting it for you.

I actually posted earlier that it might make sense for people with a V-box, I must have skimmed over your mention of the spreader.

x2 on that one! Not only for the added length off the front of the truck, but also the added weight against the trucks FGAWR- just what most plow trucks need is another 200# hanging off the front even farther out than the plow Good concept- in reality not a good way to keep the truck in good working order/avoid insurance claims.

Take it off before and back on after you plow, seems like a real time saver......

That much weight hanging that far out must be murder on a front end.

Looks half-baked. If this was your only option, why not just install heavy duty hooks on the front of the blower? Drop the plow, drive in and lift. Hands free!!!!

That is a great idea, makes far more sense.

It looks like that setup is very thoughtful. Just in case it does fall off, you are guaranteed that it will be totally destroyed when you then run over it. Saves a lot of hassle with the insurance company.

I have a flatbed and would like to see someone come up with a spring loaded carrier that swings down from the flatbed to near ground level with the blower on board. It's a killer to be lifting my 75lb single stage up and off the bed that is over 40" high a dozen times a day.
