New 8000HD wont lift more than 2 inches??

Just bought a "Dealer-Demo" new 8000HD, did a self instal, but when hooked the plow up it would only raise an inch or 2. Limped it to the dealer as I second guessed my install, but the tech there said everything was good and he couldnt figure out why it wouldnt lift either. Angles left and right, but no lift over 2 inches. Any ideas??

Sometimes you get a mount adapter that is not correct for the plow. You may have an LT mount adapter. There is a good way to identify the mount adapter. Looking at the stacking stops (the flanges on the mount adapter) the LT plow has a stop that is a rectangle (on a single plane). The HD mount adapter ... the correct one for an 8000HD ... is the one that has a stacking stop that has a bend to it. You might say it has a bottom and a back. I'm pretty sure this is your problem. Let me know if you need pics to further identify.

Make sure the hook is curled all the way around the back of the lift bar. Might be too tight. This is with the plow on the ground. Your first couple of inches before the plow lifts may be from the hook not hitting the back of the bar.

Thanks for the input guys... Bliz$HinikrDLR was correct. I was given an LT mount adapter, going to pick up the right one now. Hopefully it snows soon!
