falling off? i mean does snow get packed between the back edge and the forward edge in the little V that it creates. you said you had a western back drag edge right?

One of our Extreme V's was a proto type for them and it was kind of weird, first off my cutting edge was worn down a bit so it was a bit uneven so the shop made some fabrications to it. Honestly on some lots and driveways it worked pretty well but other's not so good. It was used in deep wet snow and light powder. More times than not it didn't work too well except add yet more weight to the front end. After a season with it on I told the shop not to put it back on when they changed a cutting edge.

I have the bolt on with the cutting edge, so no to ever being able to fall of. And No to the snow packing in between, and if it were to its not the end of the world. I dont know about the other drop down ones.

according to the backdragblades.com guy snow gets packed in the V made from the two blades and it doesnt work as well. have you experienced this?

I farmed for a long time, dont even get started with this laying on the wet ground stuff. You wont get any sympathy here. These guys have also had their fair share of rough days, long nights, bad experiences and break downs. We learn and move on...

you would have to mod them. cut them in half and a bit short so when you vee back there is room for the inside pieces not to pinch when they come together

wouldnt the same issue occur with without a back drag?

does this get the pavement as clean as going forward with your blade?

Does anyone know of a welder in North NJ that can fabricate a back drag edge for an 7 1/2 ft HD straignt blade, I need one for all of my driveways

I am sorry I was not specific enough, this is for a Fisher HD 71/2 ft plow, I saw the site you mentioned nothing listed for Fisher, usually they have to be fabricated nothing that I know of straight off of the shelf

Back drag blades delivers. If it doesnt fit your plows holes you can drill new ones. Making one takes an actual fab shop. Cannot bend metal with a welder.

sorry for last post. had an issue with my phone and thought my other didnt go threw.

someone mentioned you were able to cut slits into the back drag edge to fit into a fisher.

I can get you some pictures of one of them up close so you can see if it would work cutting slits into it. can you not use fishers back drag edge? http://www.fisherplows.com/fe/showroom/accessories.php about half way down

with a back drag edge you have the same angle going backward as you do going forward, so it should cut backward jsut the same as going forward.

as far as cutting edge wear, both edges are on the ground at teh same time. so they both wear the same.

Do you ever PROOF READ your post's prior to submitting them? it would make it a lot easier for someone to follow what ever your are try to say.
