What is the best way to clean out the three plugs that connect the truck to the plow on my x blade? I already have the dielectric grease for after but how do i get the yellow crap out? or anything else in there?

Also, whats the proper way to check the fluid level in the plow?

thansk in advance

To clean the connectors, use a wire brush and a bottle of battery terminal cleaner. Then apply the dielectric grease afterwards.

To check the fluid, you open the filler bolt on the side of the reservoir and look in. If the level is at or close to the level of the filler hole, you're all set. Make sure that the lift ram is compressed entirely before checking.

Oh, and open the filler cap slowly too, unless you like the taste of hydraulic oil.:dizzy:

Well I never have a problem when I open the quill first to relieve the pressure.

how is there pressure? dont the MM's have breathers? Lift cylinder in float and push it all the way down till its compressed completely......then add fluid till its level with the filler port deal

Get some spray contact cleaner. Hose it in there, maybe get a q tip or something if you need to sweep out a ton of crud. Then apply the grease

I dunno why there was pressure either, but there was. Oops.

There usually is pressure, but like I said before, just loosen the quill and the pressure will be released.

And after you clean the plug, put some dielectric grease or Fluid Film in there and connect/disconnect it a couple of times.
