I am going to look at a 6.5" conventional Fisher for my Sonoma on sat. I am wondering how much of a pain in the butt these old plows are to take on and off? I had one on an old s10, but I never took it off! Appreciate any help!

you mean install or mount the blade?
Install I don't know- never done one.
Mounting the blade is no big deal- drive over the blade, hook the lift chain and raise the blade a bit. The chain carries the weight of the mounting side. Lift it only enough to swing it into place- them swing the mounting ears into the pushplates- kick the pins and go. I used to drop mine on a cinder block for general use to give average height.

You won't find factory mounts anywhere to put a conventional mount Fisher on a Sonoma. The last conventional mount LD Fisher was made back before the second gen S-10's even came out (probably around 1990 or so) and the rest of the line quickly followed in the switch over to the original Minute Mount by around 1992 or 1993 (roughly).
