I was wondering what the difference was between them. Are the hook ups the same or different

The differance is minor. On the MM1 you physically have to position the pins by hand and raise the headgear to let them slide in, same when you take it off. On the MM2 there is 1 handle that does everything. I've had both and the mm2 is quicker and easier but not by much.:dizzy:

Few other differences, but that's the only major one that the operator will notice. The lift arm is different on the MM2, the MM2 also has a spring on the lift arm to compress it completely so you don't have to climb on it to compress it before disconnecting, The moldboard a-frame mounts a little differently (different height I am told) from the old MM1, but the MM1 and MM2 use the same push plates on the truck. (different electrical connections from MM1 to MM2 I don;t know if the MM1 can be converted)

Some late MM1's use the insta act hydraulics (mine does) and isolation module wiring package. This results in you having the same hookup as an MM2 with the exception of the single handle. I can drive up to any MM2 straight blade and hook up to it with my half ton.

Yes. If you have the three wire setup.

Some of the original minute mounts used underhood hydraulics...just FYI.

Those are the 3-Plug systems with Insta-Act Hydraulics. Those are the latest MM1's before the MM2's were released.

No, I think he is talking about the original minute mounts. They were a 3 hose & 1 wire connection set up. The latest minute mount 1's were strictly an all elcetrical connection between truck and plow unit.

OIC. Yes the original Minute Mounts were Hydraulic/Hydraulic rather than Electric/Hydraulic with a hydraulic pump mounted up to the engine.
